Get clear answers, compassionate support, and a better understanding of yourself.

Whether you’ve always felt different from others, recently started exploring neurodivergence online, or are deep into late-night Google searches about masking and sensory overload—you are not alone. Many adults come to autism testing later in life, especially those who’ve learned to blend in, overcompensate, or put everyone else’s needs ahead of their own.

I specialize in autism assessments for adults through a neurodiversity-affirming and gender-informed lens. My training and experience focus on how autism often shows up differently in women, nonbinary individuals, and high-masking adults. My evaluations are designed to bring understanding and relief—not judgment or labels.

I have completed 200+ ADHD and autism evaluations for adults, college students, therapists, and professionals seeking diagnostic clarity. My assessment process follows current best-practice diagnostic guidelines and is designed to provide both clear answers and practical next steps for support, accommodations, and treatment.

While autism may be the primary question bringing you here, my evaluations are comprehensive diagnostic assessments. We carefully explore whether—and how—other conditions may be contributing to your experiences, including trauma (such as complex PTSD), ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, disordered eating, head injuries, or other psychological concerns.

These evaluations are designed to clarify the overall diagnostic picture, particularly in situations where symptoms may overlap across multiple conditions. Many therapists and medical providers refer clients for these assessments when the diagnostic story is complex or unclear.

The personalized report you receive includes diagnostic findings along with  recommendations for treatment, academic accommodations, workplace accommodations, and relationship support.

If you’re wondering whether autism is part of your story, I’m here to help you find clarity.

Get an Autism Assessment That Makes Sense of Your Life

I offer neurodiversity-affirming autism testing for adults (ages 18 and up), both in-person here in Northfield, Minnesota and online for clients across 42+ PSYPACT states. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and designed to work with your brain—not against it.

We’ll explore questions like:

  • What’s the difference between autism and ADHD?

  • Could my social exhaustion or “weirdness” actually be neurodivergence?

  • Why have relationships always felt confusing or overwhelming?

  • Is it too late to get diagnosed?

Spoiler: It’s not too late. You’re not too old. And you’re definitely not “too much.”

Autism in Women and High-Masking Adults

Collage of nine smiling neurodivergent adults illustrating autism in women, nonbinary, and high-masking individuals.

Autism often looks different in adults, especially women and others who’ve learned to mask their traits. Many of my clients have spent years trying to blend in, study social cues, or push through sensory discomfort without realizing the toll it takes.

Common experiences include:
• Feeling socially “off” or misunderstood despite good communication skills
• Intense empathy that can lead to burnout or people-pleasing
• Difficulty setting boundaries or balancing relationships
• Rigid routines or perfectionism that provide safety but increase stress
• Exhaustion after social events or unstructured days

Because these presentations can overlap with ADHD, anxiety, or trauma, it’s important to work with someone who understands the nuances of adult autism across genders. My goal is to help you make sense of your experiences, not to fit you into a narrow checklist.

What You’ll Get from an Adult Autism Assessment

By the end of our process, you’ll have:

(1) A clear answer about whether autism is part of your diagnostic picture
(2) A thorough personalized report (great for accommodations at work/school or just your own peace of mind)
(3) A better understanding of how autism may be interacting with ADHD, anxiety, trauma, or depression
(4) Supportive, actionable next steps (accommodations, therapy, coaching, or community resources)

We use the current gold standard assessment protocol for an adult autism evaluation, and break this down into a simple 2-step process...

Tele-health or in-person.

2-3 hours

  • We’ll meet either in person or via telehealth.

  • We’ll explore your history, symptoms, social experiences, sensory sensitivities, masking patterns, and more.

  • I’ll also use standardized autism assessments for adults, plus screeners for ADHD, trauma, anxiety, and depression (because these things often overlap).

  • If helpful, you can invite someone who knows you well (partner, sibling, parent, best friend) to contribute observations.

Step 2: Feedback & Written Report

Tele-health or in-person.

60 minutes

  • You’ll receive your full report (usually within 3–7 days—I know, that’s fast!).

  • We’ll meet again to review your results, talk through next steps, and make sure you feel supported moving forward.

Still Wondering If You Might Be Autistic?

You may be navigating late-diagnosed autism, especially if you:

  • Felt like an outsider growing up—even if no one else noticed

  • Struggle with unspoken rules, small talk, or group conversations

  • Experience sensory overload (certain sounds, lights, fabrics, etc.)

  • Mask so well that people say you “don’t seem autistic” (ugh, we know)

  • Are a woman, nonbinary person, or trans person who’s learned to overachieve and compensate

You are absolutely not alone. Many of the folks I work with have been quietly wondering for years—and finally take the leap to find clarity and self-compassion through autism testing.

Payment and Insurance

The cost for an autism assessment is $1,620, which includes the clinical interview, assessment tools, scoring, report writing, consultation, and feedback session. A $295 deposit is required to hold your testing appointment and is applied to the total evaluation fee.

Our practice is out-of-network for all insurance providers, which means:

• Payment is made directly to our practice
• We provide a superbill you can submit to insurance for possible reimbursement
• Many clients receive partial reimbursement depending on their plan

If you plan to seek reimbursement, we recommend calling your insurance company to verify your benefits. Our Insurance Verification Guide below can help walk you through that process.

If cost is a concern, we’re happy to discuss options during a free 15-minute consultation after insurance benefits have been verified.

Insurance Verification Guide

Some clients choose to submit their autism assessment for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. If you’d like to explore that option, this guide can help you quickly check what your plan may cover.

Because every insurance plan is different, the easiest way to verify your benefits is to call the phone number on the back of your insurance card and ask a representative a few simple questions.

This process usually takes about 5–10 minutes.

When you call, you can ask the following questions:

  1. Is ADHD/autism assessment or psychological testing covered in my plan?

  2. Are there any requirements for coverage?
(For example: pre-authorization, a referral from a primary care physician, or other steps.)

  3. Do I need to meet my annual deductible before this service is covered?
If so, ask how much of your deductible has already been met this year.

  4. What percentage would be reimbursed for out-of-network psychological testing?
Let them know the service would be provided by an out-of-network psychologist.

  5. If ADHD/autism assessment is not covered, will the cost still count toward my deductible if I submit documentation of payment?

If the insurance representative asks for billing details, you can refer to the Example Superbill further down on this page. It includes the billing codes and provider information insurance companies typically request.

Many clients receive partial reimbursement depending on their plan. Others choose to simply pay out-of-pocket without submitting insurance claims.

Either option is completely fine, our goal is simply to help you have clear expectations ahead of time.

If you have questions while reviewing your benefits, feel free to reach out. We're always happy to help you think through your options.
